Washing Instruction:

Wipe clean or machine wash cold with like colors, tumble dry no heat. Wash temperature: Under 30 Centigrade (Less than 86 Fahrenheit) or air dry. These are not to be used in the microwave.

The elastic around the cover will keep the cover on snug and tight on your bowls and they keep the nasties out. Extending the freshness of foods better than foil, plastic wrap or wax paper. Although the elastic is tight, it is not air tight therefore the covers are intended to be used for short term storage.
